Recent Federal Government announcements have demonstrated ongoing support for Australia's pre-schoolers and the services that provide them with education and care.
The May budget included an announcement of increased child-care subsidies for families. The subsidy will increase from a maximum of 30% to a maximum of 50% of out of pocket costs, providing up to an extra $2500 annually to some families. Treasurer Wayne Swan said increasing the child-care rebate would not only help families financially but would increase the number of parents returning to work.
The Government is also currently undertaking an investigation into introducing paid parental leave. Again, a driving factor is to make returning to work easier for parents.
Both of these initiatives are good news for Australia's child-care providers, as well as for Computer Gym. We hope it translates to many more children having the opportunity for lessons.
